What you can do while you child is at camp

Relax and enjoy your time away. You have chosen a good camp. It is normal to have mixed feelings of pleasure and sadness while your child is away. You too will need to adjust to the fact that your child is away from home. You may call or e-mail the Camp Director if you have any concerns. Keep in mind the following...

  • Send your child upbeat mail (one week prior to their arrival) asking them  what exciting things are happening at Camp.
  • Use the word LOVE and not MISS.
  • Talk about the activities the child will be participating in; archery, arts  & crafts, swimming.
  • Look at the sample schedule to have an idea about what your child is doing on a given day.
  • Be clear about when you will see them and how they will get home. Don’t  confuse them by saying that you will pick them up on Saturday if they are taking the bus home.
  • Also teach your child how to write a letter home, give them pre-addressed  envelopes or post cards to send home to you.
  • Cell phone reception is unavailable at Pendola Center and therefore are not allowed at camp. If there is a problem the Camp Director will call you.  If you have a concern, you may call and talk to the Camp Director.
  • Do not send food with your child or in a care package. Your child is receiving three meals a day, afternoon and evening snacks.

All mail and packages can be sent to:

Labels Galore!

At the end of summer, there is always a pile of campers belongings left
at camp. This is an expensive waste for our campers (and their parents!)
As a way to target the problem of lost belongings and a large lost and
found closet, we are encouraging our campers to label all belongings.

We have partnered with Mabel's Labels, a company with all types of
labels that are colourful, indestructable and fun!  With a special 'Camp
Pack' available and also a larger "Big Combo", your camper can label
absolutely everything!

Go to www.pendola.mabel.ca and then place your order!
